About Us

White Light Events are organisers of Mind Body Spirit & Wellbeing Events, Health and Healing Festivals, Pagan Events and in 2022 we are holding our first Mind, Body, Spirit, Wellbeing & Yoga Festival in Manchester. White Light's was founded by Wendy Lewis and Samantha Hateley in 2008. Our journey began after organising a Mind Body & Spirit Event for our childrens school and quickly moved on from there. We both enjoyed the experience and had formed a lovely relationship with the exhibitors who attended that event and decided that we wanted to continue. We looked for venues in our local area and found The Spot in Derby and in January 2009 we held our first event under the White Lights name. We were amazed at the response from both exhibitors and visitors. We had 40 exhibitors in that small venue and we had over 250 visitors. We quickly went on to find more venues and it just grew from there. Samantha decided 5 months after the first event that she wanted to follow her heart and left White Lights to follow her dream of becoming a midwife. She did, however, continue to help for quite a while after that.

 

From the start we have taken pride in our events and we have enjoyed building lasting friendships with both exhibitors and visitors. Some of our exhibitors have remained with us from that very first event. We have many exhibitors that work with us now, on every event, and we have some exhibitors that dip in and out dependant on where life takes them and where they need to be.

 

We organise events that bring together like minded people from all walks of life, some of which may be at the beginning of their spiritual journey, and many who have been on their journey for a while and who want to share their experiences with others. We watch visitors sit, chat and share knowledge over a coffee, we watch exhibitors talk about their product with pride and their experience is obvious to all who talk to them. We bring together the people that need to meet, for whatever reason, we also watch visitors grow in confidence and walk out of an event with a big smile on their face, knowing that they have learnt something that will help them in their daily life. This is what it is about for us, creating a space for people to share knowledge, to learn, to feel comfortable with being who they are and to be able to go forward in life with new skills and confidence.

White Light Events aim is to create an environment where visitors are made to feel welcome and where they will experience an uplifting and positive atmosphere. Visitors will be greeted by exhibitors that are both local and national and who will be happy to offer advice and guidance.

Well respected psychics, tarot readers, mediums, clairvoyants, aura photographers, psychic artists and other spiritual consultants will be available to offer life guidance, many of which work internationally and have many years of experience in their field.

Therapists will be available for taster treatments and full treatments and they will be able to offer advice on many health related subjects. Many therapists will be local so that you may continue to see them for follow up treatments in your local area.

In addition to our readers and therapists there will be a range of retail stands offering Tarot and Oracle Cards, Crystals, Crystal Lamps, Fairies, Angels, Pagan and Wiccan items, Books, CD’s, Forever Living Products, Essential Oils, Witches, New Age, Clothing, Spiritual Art and much much more.

At all of our events we will have at least one room of talks where the talks are included in the admission price. The majority of our speakers are exhibitors from the event but we do have special guests who are happy to chat to visitors and sign books (if applicable) after their talk.We look forward to welcoming you to our events during 2022.

 

Wendy

 

Wendy became Self Employed in 2000 when she bought her first Take Away. She had worked in Take Away's from the age of 13 and had always wanted to run her own. The Take Away became very busy when Wendy implemented her own idea's and marketing. The success of this business enabled her to purchase the building in which her Take Away was located, it also had 2 other empty shop units and a large space above. The shop units were split into 3 units and were quickly rented out and then Wendy and her growing family moved into the space above. After over a year of property conversion it became a beautiful home. This then led her into property development. After baby number four the Take Away was rented out and as the property business was now running itself she needed something else to do. Wendy became vice chairman of the local schools PTA in 2008, helping with fund raising idea's and events. After a suggestion was made to hold a pamper evening for the school Wendy researched the possibility and came across information on Mind Body and Spirit Events! What was meant to be a pamper evening soon turned into an MBS Event and raised a considerable amount for the school. She enjoyed the planning, chatting with exhibitors and the feel of the event so much that she decided that was the path she wanted to take. In 2009 White Light Events was born. Apart from founding White Light Events Wendy also set up a small shop in Ripley selling all things Esoteric. After the birth of Willow in 2012, her 5th child, the decision to close Spirit Earth was made as Willow needed extra care as she was born profoundly deaf. Spirit Earth and Spirit Earth Books still exist, but as stands at White Light Events and other events around the country. Little Willow is also a popular member of the White Light's team. In 2015 Spirit Earth shop reopened in Ripley and is now run by Dave.

 

David

 

David comes from the engineering and construction industry as a CAD design engineer. Dave was first introduced to White Light Events as an exhibitor in 2010 having an information stand for a paranormal investigation group, something which he did in his spare time. In May 2011 romance blossomed between Wendy and Dave and soon Dave was a regular face working with White Lights looking after the logistical side of things. From January 2013 Dave has been working with Spirit Earth running the stand at events and the newly formed Spirit Earth Book stand. Moving forward new items are being worked on with art work being created by Dave and herb products which are to be added to the extensive range of Pagan products on the Spirit Earth stand. 2014 also sees the rebranding of White Light Events and a new website.

 

Jake, Samantha, Baran, Azeliya and Willow.

 

Wendy's children have always attended the events with her but in 2014/2015 they have taken on their own roles within the events. At the smaller 1 day events Jake and Azeliya run the kitchen and at the larger 2 day events Jake works on the door with Wendy, while Azeliya takes on the role of babysitter to Willow. Baran has a very keen interest in photography and will often be seen around the event with his camera and photos and videos from Baran will start to be added to this new website shortly. Samantha visits the shows occasionally and joins in with looking after baby Willow.

 

White Light Events held their first ever event in Derby at The Spot, back in 2009. This event was a one day event which was enjoyed by both visitor's and exhibitor's alike. After the success of the first event in Derby it was quickly followed by a 2 day event held at Derby University in July 2009. The event attracted nearly 1000 visitors and had over 60 exhibitors. After this event the Derby event has continued to grow and has become a popular event on the MBS calendar. After a decision was made by Derby University to no longer hold commercial events the event moved to Derby Roundhouse and in 2014 we now see a move into our new home at Pride Park Stadium.

White Light's host events throughout England, with our other major shows in Milton Keynes and Whitby. We have noticed throughout the last year with the downturn in the economy that one day events would be of benefit to visitors and exhibitors which is why in 2014 we are hosted 5 one day events. These have already proven to be very popular with exhibitors as spaces are being filled very quickly.
